Robert Downey Jr. is coming back to the big screen, but instead of having an arsenal of technology and suits of armor he will have an army of animals that he can converse with. That’s right, Robert Downey Jr. is Doctor Dolittle and we finally got our first look at the upcoming movie.
After going into hiding, Dolittle is forced back into action after Queen Victoria falls ill. With his animal companions at his side, Dolittle sets off on an amazing journey to find a cure.
Now, as we’ve mentioned, Robert Downey Jr. won’t be alone.
We’ve got Emma Thompson as Polynesia, a blue and gold macaw. Rami Malek as Chee-Chee, the gorilla. John Cena as Yoshi the polar bear. Tom Holland as Jip the dog (who wears glasses) and Ralph Fiennes as Barry the tiger. Other voices include Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, Selena Gomez, Marion Cotillard, Craig Robinson, Carmen Ejogo and Frances de la Tour. Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Jim Broadbent and Jessie Buckley also feature in the film.
You can check out Dolittle on February 7th 2020. For now, you can watch the trailer right here.
Just from the trailer alone, I am very excited for this movie. While the cast is absolutely fantastic, the film seems to have a lot of heart involved and I love that. I can’t wait to see the recluse doctor transform with the help of his friends. This is going to be one for the entire family.
