Over the long Labor Day weekend, Top Gun: Maverick raced past Black Panther at the box office.
With $1.4 billion in global box office, Tom Cruise’s sequel took the top spot this weekend over Sony’s re-release of Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version, adding another $7.9 million to its $1.4 billion worldwide total according to Deadline. Maverick has now amassed a total of $700.8 million at the domestic box office, surpassing Disney and Marvel Studios’ Black Panther and becoming the fifth-highest grossing film ever there .
