For months and months, we’ve been hearing news about the new Spider-Man film. There have been so many casting notifications that this film could practically be a standalone Avengers film. I’m not kidding, that’s how many heroes and villains this movie is reported to have. Supposedly we should be seeing Tobey Macguire and Andrew Garfield return as their own versions of the wall-crawler. They should be joining Tom Holland along with several returning Spidey villains. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and most recently Willem Defoe’s Green Goblin. Somethin Tom Holland said recently could confirm that this was all speculation on the part of eager fans. See, here’s the issue… Tom Holland says he’s the only Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3.
“No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. They have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.” is what Holland had to say when he spoke to Esquire. Fans are understandably not buying it. With how many rumors there’s been about it, and with WandaVision breaking down the barrier between universes in its most recent episode, it’s possible Tom Holland is lying. Okay, I don’t want to call him a liar, he’s just doing his job and trying to protect the surprises.
We’ll just have to wait to see if the rumors are true. Spider-Man 3 should be releasing later this year, so we should have a trailer before long. I’ll be eager to see as footage starts coming out of the newest Spidey film. I also really home that Holland isn’t correct in what he’s saying. I really want to see a film with all three Spider-man’s.
