The eyes of the pop culture realm are on the stars of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War as the film’s premiere date draws closer. This week, fans across the world will pile into theaters with fellow Marvel fanatics to see the movie that will evoke all sorts of emotions.
One character we’re really curious to see in the film is Loki. A character we fell in love with quickly (we like our ‘borderline villains’ here at Fan Fest) with a story we still want to know more of. Tom Hiddleston brings Loki to the big screen with a sense of charisma that keeps audiences interested.
Today, we found out something very interesting about Loki’s journey through the MCU. Hiddleston himself has known quite a bit about Thanos for some time now.
In an interview with Comicbook.com, Hiddleston elaborated on this.
‘I did know about Thanos. I knew that ahead of time. I had to ask. I had lots of conversations with Joss Whedon, like, ‘Okay, so this scepter which can poison people’s minds, I can poison Stellan Skaarsgard, I can poison Jeremy Renner, why do I have that power? I open the wormhole and these aliens come. Who’s aliens are these? So, when I have that scene with The Other, who is he working for? Who am I talking to?’ I was one of the only people who had to know that information. Other actors playing the Avengers just had to know they’re up against Loki but I was like, ‘Okay, I’m having this conversation with this alien.’ So, I knew about Thanos, it was amazing to finally see it all come around.’
We’re glad Tom asked the important questions, knowing about Thanos only enhanced Loki’s character. We might not have known the ins and outs, but he did. Without being too obvious, he used it to his advantage.
Here’s hoping we see a lot more of Loki in the future.
Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
