Titans: This Version Of Batman Is A Fu—– Psychopath And Terrible Person!

Titans season 3 has aired, and has given us a different look at the Dark Knight of Gotham! The season so far is excellent and this take on Bruce is definitely… interesting. But this version of Batman is a freaking psychopath and a terrible person. I feel like it goes even farther than in the comic books.

From this point on we’ll be discussing spoilers for Titans season 3, so if you haven’t seen it yet you may want to wait and come back later. We just don’t want to ruin it for you… even though you probably already know.

So, we all knew it was coming the moment Red Hood was shown. It was always going to involve Jason being beaten with a crowbar but it’s what comes afterwards that gets messy in my opinion. It all starts after Jason’s death.

For example, Bruce doesn’t wait for the Titans to arrive to have a funeral for Jason. He also acts like… nothing is wrong. He’s obviously upset but is pushing it away. This isn’t too terrible and isn’t uncharacteristic for Batman but it gets worse.

During a meeting with Bruce, Barbara and Dick it is made abundantly clear Bruce isn’t a very nice person. The way he treated Jason and Dick goes beyond what he usually does in the comics. Dick is doing his best to defend Bruce but it gets worse.

He finds a list of potential recruits on the Batcomputer and he loses it on Bruce. Bruce goes so far as to ask him if he wants to be Robin again. How messed up is that? He goes on to tell Dick, in an admittedly heartbroken voice, “I can’t do this alone.” to which Dick responds, “Then don’t do it anymore.”

So Bruce doesn’t. He goes to Arkham Asylum, kills the Joker, tells Dick to be a better Batman and leaves. Possibly forever.

Do you think this version of Batman is a psychopath and terrible person? Or do you think this is standard Batman? Let us know in the comments!

The first three episodes of Titans season 3 are on HBO Max right now!
