It’s hard to believe that it’s already been one year since the world tragically lost one of the most beloved actresses of all time, Carrie Fisher.  This Wednesday marked the one year anniversary of Fisher’s death.  Fisher had been traveling home to Los Angeles when she suffered a cardiac arrest on her flight.  She was taken to a hospital where she died a few days later.

The world will always remember her for her iconic portrayal of Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise. At just 19 years old, this was the role of a lifetime for Fisher and really ended up being her big arrival onto the Hollywood scene.

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we thought what better way to celebrate Carrie Fisher’s life and the impact she has made in film history than by looking back at where it all began – her audition tape.

In the below clip, Fisher can be seen auditioning for the role of Princess Leia.  She is facing the camera while running lines with an off-camera voice that will certainly sound familiar to Star Wars fans.  It’s none other than Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford.

Fisher’s audition tape was just the humble beginnings of what would become one of the biggest phenomena in pop-culture history and her role is one that will continue to resonate with fans (both old and new) for decades yet to come.

Check out her audition below and, in the comment section below, let us know what your favorite Princess Leia moment is from the Star Wars films!
