Happy Throwback Thursday everyone!! In fact it is National ‘Thoughtful Thursday’ today in addition to our usual Throwback Thursday here at Fan Fest News! The other day I was casually scrolling through my Netflix, trying to figure out what I wanted to watch and I came across some live comedy shows, and it made me really want to watch a comedic movie. Of course, I was also in the mood to watch something to satisfy my inner nerd. What movie is both hilarious and kind of nerdy? Then I remembered… The Mask!

The Mask is a 1994 American dark fantasy superhero comedy film loosely based on the comic series of the same name,  published by Dark Horse Comics.  The film stars several A-List celebrities, including: Jim Carrey, Peter Greene, Peter Riegert, and Cameron Diaz.

The story revolved around an unlucky bank clerk named Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) who winds up finding the Mask of Loki (who we all know, is the God of Mischief), and he starts causing havoc around his city. Of course there is a bad guy in the movie too, to which Stanley winds up kicking his butt and winning over the heart of the beautiful Tina (Cameron Diaz).

The film was released on 29 July 1994 by New Line Cinema, and it instantly became a commercial blockbuster; receiving positive reviews.
