Last night at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios held a panel in Hall H where they announced Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Many anticipated superhero movies were announced at the panel, but one in particular that I am very excited to hear about is Thor: Love and Thunder.
In addition to Chris Hemsworth as Thor himself, returning cast members from previous Marvel movies include Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman. Natalie Portman played Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest in the first two installments of the series, but was absent in the third, Thor: Ragnorok. Jane Foster will not only be played by Natalie Portman again, but she will also take on the role of a female Thor in this installment. Director of Thor: Ragnorok, Taika Waititi, is also returning to the series for Love and Thunder.

I am so happy for this movie to be announced. Something that I think would make it even more fun is if Natalie Portman is to wield Thor’s hammer, which was previously wielded by Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. Check out reactions to this announcement from comic writer Jason Aaron, and other Marvel fans on social media below!
Consider me thunderously excited. The Jane Foster Thor storyline I did with @rdauterman, (Eisner winner!) @COLORnMATT & so many more talented artists is one of my proudest moments in comics. I can't wait to see @TaikaWaititi & Natalie Portman bring the Goddess of Thunder to life. pic.twitter.com/3pylwsfR9e

I’ve thought a lot about it. I couldn’t decide if I was more excited about Love and Thunder or Fantastic Four. But Jane Foster Thor is coming first, so I can let myself be more excited for that right now.
Jason Aaron’s Thor run is the best. Absolutely read it. pic.twitter.com/ofB2TCNNO6
