Wildfires in California have burned through over 100,000 acres and the destruction is absolutely devastating. When tragedy overwhelms us, it can be hard to find the positives. However, this morning, a story out of the midst of the fire brought us all to tears.

A man got out of his vehicle yesterday and, without knowing it, restored our faith in people.

He was trying to save a wild rabbit from the fire when the little bunny got spooked and, instead, darted directly in. He began to panic but managed to stay calm and coax the rabbit out of the fire. He was able to pick the animal up and get him out of harm’s way – both from the fire and the middle of a busy road.

Being on the side of the road himself, and inching in the fire to save the animal was something some may have thought twice about. However, the unnamed man seemed to have no hesitation.

The camera person noted that the man didn’t want to be interviewed or have a few seconds of infamy. He just wanted to do something kind, we could all use a little more of that.
