‘This Is Us’ Adds Sylvester Stallone for a Guest Starring Role in Season 2

Dan Fogelman revealed at NBC’s 2017 TCA Panel today that they’re adding a heavy hitter to the Season 2 roster for This Is Us. Sylvester Stallone will be appearing as himself on the series as Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) co-star in an upcoming film. It sounds like he may be taking on some sort of father-figure role, so it looks like this may have the potential to be a recurring role.
This isn’t the first time Stallone will be sharing the screen with a member of the Pearson clan, though. In 2006 he starred in Rocky Balboa alongside Milo Ventimiglia who played his son Robert Balboa Jr. Glad to see they are still keeping everything all in the family. It’s safe to assume that these two will have any scenes together in This Is Us due to Jack being in different timelines.

(Sorry: A slight elaboration to that last elaboration: Sly as a "father figure" to Kevin's movie character…'nuf said. #TCA17 #ThisIsUs )

What do you think about the casting?
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
