October is always an exciting time for fans of The Walking Dead as that’s when the show returns for new seasons on AMC. Well, 2018 has a little extra October surprise to offer fans, and no, it’s not Archery with Norman Reedus. Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment just officially announced October 13, 2018, as The Walking Dead Day.
So what is The Walking Dead Day? According to the official announcement, it is “An exciting all-day, globally celebrated event commemorating the world’s favorite, long-running, survival comic created by Robert Kirkman.” They also revealed the first of many collectible items that will be available on the big day – THE WALKING DEAD #1 15th ANNIVERSARY VARIANT (left).
The new cover features artwork by Charlie Adlard with colors by Dave Stewart and will be available in participating comic book stores around the country. To make it even more special “local comic shops will become a part of the iconic story with their own special edition of this cover which will feature the store’s logo incorporated into the cover artwork.”
Make sure to contact your local comic book store to see if they will be participating and to get more scoop on what other promotional goodies will be available!
If you can’t make it to the store on October 13th, fans will be able to order THE WALKING DEAD #1 15th ANNIVERSARY VARIANT until July 9th, 2019.
