In a new spot promoting the AMC+ streaming service, Norman Reedus and Lauren Cohan ruin The Walking Dead for everyone. “Don’t you despise it when people ask for Walking Dead spoilers?” asks Reedus. As one of the biggest shows ever on television, and with filming taking place in very public places, The Walking Dead may be one of the most spoiled shows of all-time. As well, AMC hasn’t done a great job of protecting fans from spoilers, as the network has had a history of placing spoilers right into commercials and trailers for upcoming episodes.
The point of the promotion is that people can avoid spoilers if they watch episodes early on AMC+, as Reedus teases that Negan gets (inaudible),” says Reedus, or “what happens when Carol (inaudible),” joked
Watch the spot below, which truly is funny but also doesn’t contain any true spoilers.
What really happens in the upcoming part two of the final season? Showrunner for The Walking Dead, Angela Kang answered a bit of that… without any spoilers.
“They find themselves in situations that are so different in some ways than ones they’ve been in before. And so they’re trying to navigate them in ways that can sometimes be uncomfortable for their characters, because they feel like they knew how the world worked, or what their place was in their group, and they’re having to kind of expand beyond their circle,” Kang told Digital Spy.
“I think in a general sense, that’s kind of what a lot of our characters, in different ways, are dealing with. And then, of course, there’s scares and all the usual fun stuff that we get to do in our show.”
The Walking Dead: The Final Season Part 2 returns with new episodes February 20th on AMC.
