If you thought Alpha and Beta were menacingly creepy on The Walking Dead, prepare to meet another terrifying Whisperer – Gamma. Colony alum Thora Birch will be taking on the popular comic book character and AMC has given us a first look! According to TVLine, Gamma serves as third-in-command of The Whisperers and “is a total Alpha acolyte and believes 200 percent in both the group’s animalistic way of life and in their merciless leader.”
As fans saw in the explosive season 10 trailer, Alpha (Samantha Morton), Beta (Ryan Hurst) and the rest of The Whisperers are back and causing more fear and problems than ever. However, after the deaths of Henry, Tara, and more, our survivors aren’t going to stand behind Alpha’s border quietly. Check out the trailer below!
In addition to Birch, it was also confirmed that Kevin Carroll (The Leftovers) will be joining season 10 as Virgil, a survivor anxiously trying to get home to his family. The milestone season will also serve as the last for Danai Gurira, who has been playing the katana-wielding Michonne since 2012. While her exit will be upsetting for fans, the upcoming Walking Dead film universe leaves plenty of room for her to return.
Hocus Pocus fans may recognize Birch from her role as Dani Dennison in the 1993 cult-classic. Other credits include the original Parenthood series, American Beauty, Patriot Games, and Ghost World.
Are you excited to see Gamma make her way onto The Walking Dead? Be sure to tune in for season 10 on Sunday, October 6th on AMC!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
