‘The Walking Dead’: The Infamous Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln Prank War Continues!

For eight (soon to be nine) long seasons, we’ve watched Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln battle walkers as Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Die-hard fans of the show also know that there’s a whole different kind of battle going on behind the scenes between these two.

Forget Negan and all-out war! Reedus and Lincoln have been engaged in an epic all-out prank war with each other for years both on and off The Walking Dead set. Their pranks range from simple jump scares, like the time Lincoln enlisted help from one of the background zombie actors to jump out and scare the snot out of Reedus in his hotel room to highly elaborate and somewhat confusing pranks, like when Reedus filled Lincoln’s trailer with chickens (we still can’t figure this one out).

Most recently, the two resorted to glitter prank warfare which was first initiated by Reedus. On a hot summer’s day in Atlanta back in 2016, Reedus filled Lincoln’s car air conditioner vents with more glitter than you can ever imagine. When Lincoln turned on the air after a long day of filming in the unbearable Georgia heat, he got a face full of the sparkly stuff which stuck to his sweaty forehead. Lincoln tried to get his revenge with a surprise glitter bomb later that year during San Diego Comic-Con, but his attempt backfired right into his face (literally).

2016 was pretty much the last time we’ve heard of any big-time pranks from the two until now!

On Tuesday night, Reedus revealed via his Instagram account that Lincoln finally got his payback. Reedus posted a black and white picture showing a fully-covered toilet papered car with the caption, “Ahem. Andy Lincoln strikes again.”

Check out Reedus’ post below. You can bet there will be some type of retribution for this, perhaps at San Diego Comic-Con once again. The entire cast is set to appear during The Walking Dead’s Hall H panel on Friday, July 20th.

Ahem. Andy lincoln strikes again ☠

The upcoming ninth season of The Walking Dead will bring about massive changes for the series. New showrunner Angela Kang has taken over on the series and has already confirmed the new season will include a bit of a time jump from where season eight left off. Additionally, Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan (who plays Maggie Greene (Rhee)) will be leaving the series before the season’s end. Cohan was recently cast in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier which was picked up to series during the recent 2018 television upfronts. Both Cohan and Lincoln are said to appear in just six episodes in the upcoming season.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC this fall.
