The Walking Dead may be on hiatus at the moment, but there is always more content to uncover while we wait! Things may be shakey for the AMC series heading into season 9, but when you look at these behind the scenes photos from this past season it’s easy to see why we love the show and the people who work on it so much. Check them out below!
EPISODE 1 – “Mercy”
We are not ready to say goodbye to these two!
Norman Reedus and Greg Nicotero hanging out on set.
And yet he smiles!
Caryl…Darol…? making their own fun despite having to wear all black while everyone else is in shorts and t-shirts.
Scott Gimple with Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln, who is wearing his iconic earbuds.
This trio looks like they’re about to drop a rad album.
If you aren’t already smiling by looking at Andy and Josh, please turn your attention to Tom Payne’s face in the background.
Don’t we all just want a hug from Michonne?
After this photo was taken we like to think Jeffrey Dean Morgan went and auditioned for the remake of Grease.
EPISODE 3 – “Monsters”
We are still not over this one. They DESERVED better.
Ross Marquand, Greg Nicotero, and Jordan-Woods Robinson.
EPISODE 4 – “Some Guy”
Welcome to Jurassic Park: Georgia Edition.
It’s terrible that they gave Jerry an umbrella and not the King! #camojokes.
Name a more iconic bromance?
We love a good Denise Huth sighting.
Daniel Newman giving his “Vogue” looks a try. We relate more to the napping walker in the background, though.
EPISODE 5 – “The Big Scary U”
All hail the mighty creator, Robert Kirkman!
Just a little brotherly squabble.
EPISODE 6 – “The King, The Widow, and Rick”
There is not one photo of Cooper Andrews or Jerry that we do not love.
We didn’t really want to include the deer Carl fell on before getting bit, but we do love seeing Nicotero in action here.
EPISODE 8 – “How It’s Gotta Be”
While we don’t agree that it had to be this way, this photo of Chandler with Judith (x2) is pretty cute.
Austin, Alanna, and Christian passing the time on set.
EPISODE 9 – “Honor”
Our hearts are full <3
EPISODE 10 – “The Lost and the Plunderers”
That is definitely the face of someone who is about to lure all of her walker friends into a meat grinder.
EPISODE 11 – “Dead or Alive Or”
Austin Amelio is whipping out quite the *lewk* here.
EPISODE 12 – “The Key”
A new variation of Negan’s signature lean.
Andy looking ecstatic to be Director of Photography.
EPISODE 13 – “Do Not Send Us Astray”
He’s still smilin’!
Our previous Cooper/Jerry comment still stands.
Tobin on his way to wreak some terribly loud havoc that no one will hear.
EPISODE 14 – “Still Gotta Mean Something”
That guy knows better than to look anywhere but where Carol is telling him to.
Lumberjack Negan!
EPISODE 15 – “Worth”
When your morning-person friend wakes you up early on a Saturday.
Christian and Norman finding some shade to hang out in on set.
We’d watch this Three Stooges spinoff in a heartbeat.
Steven Ogg was the best character turned walker on this show and you can @ me on that.
See, it’s all good between Steven and Jeffrey off camera.
This is just classic Gregory, tbh.
EPISODE 16 – “Wrath”
Here we have a real-life ray of sunshine and her name is Lauren Cohan.
All aboard the Richonne ship!
We like to think Nicotero is trying to Jedi Mind Trick Andy into staying on the show.
If it weren’t for Norman’s hair this could totally be a season 1 photo, right?!
What a crew! So thankful for all those off-camera who help make the show happen.
Sherrif Grimes reporting for duty.
When these three are involved everything is perfect.
The Walking Dead Family is the best family.
The Walking Dead will return for season 9 this fall!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
