‘The Walking Dead’ Teaser Provides New Look at a Group of Whisperers

AMC released a new teaser this weekend on Facebook, which is giving fans a whole new look at The Whisperers.
In the teaser, you can see a group of Whisperers lumbering through the forest. One of the group members turns towards the camera and stares back. The teaser ends while plugging the February 10th return of the season.
It’s unclear who the intense Whisperer is, but fans are speculating that it could be Beta, played by Ryan Hurst. Hurst was cast as the protective leader in 2018 and we’ve only gotten small glimpses of the character in past teasers. We’ve mainly seen Alpha, played by Samantha Morton.
This Whisperer could just be one random one who heard a leaf crack behind them.
The cast and crew have spoken highly of The Whisperers, including Hurst. He recently sent out an ominous tweet saying,
We talk low.
We walk slow.
We kill…everyone. #Whisperers @TheWalkingDead @WalkingDead_AMC
Danai Gurira had this to say of the group,
“Now, it’s a brand new battle to fight in a whole new way. This is not Negan. This is not the Governor. This is a very pernicious group of people. No one expects Jesus to be caught off guard. He was just one of those characters who could handle just about anything. Our characters have learned to survive in this world. They’re no longer in a place where they’re losing people all of the time. They’ve figured out to thrive in this world. There are families. There’s growth. There is life. Life is coming back. So, to have someone as vibrant and as full of life and as kind as Jesus be cut down like that, it makes them all vulnerable.”
What do you think of the new teaser? The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February 10th on AMC.
