‘The Walking Dead’ Star Norman Reedus Inks Deal with STXfilms for a Genre Feature

Norman Reedus has some big and exciting plans in store for the future.

According to Deadline, The Walking Dead star has just solidified a deal with entertainment company STXfilms to develop an upcoming genre feature. Reedus will be working with STXfilm on a project specifically geared towards his fanbase. Reedus will be producing the project as well as starring in the feature.

STXfilms chairman Adam Fogelson told Deadline:

[row]“Norman has steadily built up a devoted fan following across movies and television with memorable performances. STX is thrilled to collaborate with Norman on this new film project that we are custom-creating for him and with him and that will be sure to excite his tremendous fan base.”[/row]

This isn’t the first time that STXfilms has entered into a partnership like this. The company has similar agreements with stars Jason Statham and Guardians of the Galaxy star David Bautista. This also isn’t the first time that Reedus would have worked with STXfilms. He is set to appear along with Fast and the Furious star Michelle Rodriguez in the original scripted VR series The Limit for STXsurreal and was most recently seen in 20016’s film Triple 9 along with Gal Gadot, Anthony Mackie, and Aaron Paul.

Reedus’ role on AMC’s The Walking Dead may also be expanding this season. Robert Kirkman recently confirmed Andrew Lincoln’s (who plays Rick Grimes) exit from the series which could indicate more screen time for Reedus. Additionally, he is set to return to the road with his AMC series Ride with Norman Reedus, a series which takes viewers on a motorcycle road trip with the actor as he learns about different locales and cultures.

Reedus and the cast of The Walking Dead will be hitting the Hall H panel stage today (Friday) at San Diego Comic-Con where, perhaps, we’ll learn more about the star’s future.
