‘The Walking Dead’ Star Lauren Cohan Joins Mark Wahlberg in Action Film ‘Mile 22’
Looks like The Walking Dead‘s Lauren Cohan will be temporarily stepping outside of the zombie apocalypse and into a whole new type of action adventure. It was announced on Tuesday that Cohan will be joining Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming film Mile 22 from STXfilms.
In addition to Cohan and Wahlberg, the film also stars John Malkovich, MMA star Ronda Rousey and Iko Uwais.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the script of the film will tell, “the story of an elite American intelligence officer who, when aided by a top-secret tactical command unit, tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of the country.”
Mile 22 will be directed by Peter Berg (Patriot’s Day, Friday Night Lights) with a script written by Graham Roland and Lea Carpenter. Berg, Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson will also be producing the film.
Of course, Lauren Cohan is best known for her role as Maggie Greene on AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead, however, fans won’t have to worry about this project conflicting with the show’s filming. Mile 22 is expected to begin filming later on this month after production for season 8 of The Walking Dead has wrapped.
