‘The Walking Dead’: Norman Reedus on Daryl’s Dog: “He’ll probably be running the show”

As we gear up for Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, fans are wondering if we will see the dog we’ve been teased with in the latest clips from the rest of the season.

He won’t show up just yet, but he will appear before the mid season break, as the clips show. Norman Reedus recently spoke about him to Comicbook.com. He expressed his excitement to work with his new cast mate. He talks about a scene they had recently filmed, where the dog had a different artistic plan for filming.

“It’s so good. I love it. I think he’s the smartest cast member we got. We just did a scene the other day that ended up being the opposite of what it was supposed to be because the dog just wanted to do something else, and it came out so much better. He’ll probably be running the show. It’s great! I love it. He loves me, too.”

At this point in the series, Rick has blown up the bridge and was whisked away by Jadis, unbeknownst to his family and the rest of the group he’s known for the past 9 season.

Daryl is among the ones who believes that Rick has died, and we are hoping that this new canine companion is filling the friendship void, as they often do. Norman goes on to say that nobody can replace Rick, though.

Are you excited to see the pup?

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC.
