When Norman Reedus originally auditioned for The Walking Dead, he read for the part of Merle Dixon. Reedus’ audition was exceptional, but the part ultimately went to Michael Rooker.
Fans of the series know that Reedus was specifically created for the role of Daryl Dixon, Merle’s brother. Because to the power of an actor like Reedus and how those behind the scenes recognized he would have a lasting impact on the show, The Walking Dead universe is now complete.
The Walking Dead has been a part of our entertainment lives for years, and while there will be spinoffs based on the show, knowing that this story is coming to a conclusion is an odd sensation. The final episodes of The Walking Dead are aired on AMC every Sunday night, as well as Amazon Prime and AMC Plus.
