The mid-season finale of The Walking Dead left fans with a literal cliff hanger (of sorts)! Season 10’s 8th episode, “The World Before”, had fans on the edge of their seats in what has already been received as the best-reviewed season of The Walking Dead in its ten-year history.
Season 10 episode 9 will be titled “Squeeze,” according to Showcase. The official description reads:
“The collected communities are reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them.”
Cooper Andrews, who plays Jerry on The Walking Dead, discussed the episode at German Comic Con and said, “Physically, the next episode… yeah. That… that was hard,” he said. “It’s dark… and it’s hard to see in the dark as an actor. I can’t tell you any more than that. So, yeah, that’s all. Next episode.”
The mid-season finale felt like it was leading up to a confrontation between Carol and Alpha and we were almost able to see it. It appears that Alpha is much more in control of her emotions and knows that Carol is not in control of her own. Alpha was able to leverage Carol’s emotions and desire to kill Alpha. Alpha leads Carol into a trap that now has Carol and the other survivors on a cliff in a cave (thus the literal cliffhanger!)!
This mid-season finale also felt like we are moving closer to Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) departure from The Walking Dead. Earlier this summer, it was revealed that this would be Gurira’s final season on the show. If her time is nearly up, having her depart on a sailboat would somewhat align with her comic book equivalent and seeing her sail out to see.
What are your thoughts on the mid-season finale and the return of The Walking Dead? It appears that Alpha continues to have a one-up on our survivors. Shoot, there may even be another spy among them in Oceanside.

The Walking Dead returns on February 23 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
This is post P-90x. I’m saying I watched the videos. I’m not saying I participated. Born in my mom’s basement, I’ve stayed there to embody the stereotype. One day I will rise up… to the main floor of the house.
