‘The Walking Dead’: Melissa McBride on Carol and Daryl’s ‘Relationship’

Many fans and bloggers have
been questioning it, and the beautiful
Melissa McBride recently discussed it
in an interview with the Los
Angeles
Times.
What exactly is going on with Carol Peletier and Daryl
Dixon? Is it
a deep
friendship? Is it something more?

Melissa McBride, who plays Carol
on
the show, smiled when asked the
question during a recent visit to the Los
Angeles Times
to discuss
the show, her role and her
connection to co-star
Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl.

“There’s no
denying that there’s
chemistry
there,” Melissa stated. “You know I love Norman, but I can’t say
because
the writers haven’t given this to
us, they are peers, I can say that,
peers and they have an amazing wonderful
relationship, bond, how they
identify
with one another, the room that they give one another and you know,
just the
kind of side by
side journey that they’re going on each on their own little
realm, you
know, is kind of a mirror reflection
right now and it’s gonna be
interesting in Season 7 to see how these
characters alone deal with the

situations that they’re in.”

Continuing,

Melissa also added: “But you know, as far as ‘what is the relationship’,
it’s
just Daryl and Carol. I
can’t tell you, it has not been written and I love
working with Norman and
there’s chemistry there and the
scenes are fun. He’s
fun to work with and those two characters, I adore
them, I adore them for their

past, I adore them for how they’ve come together and walked this apocalypse

together and there’s a
sweetness there that’s undeniable.” It’s this kind of
sweetness that gives
us hope for their future.”

Carol split off from the group at the end of
Season 6, after coming
to the
realization that she could not continue to live the life of a
killer.
Morgan followed her, coming to
the exact same conclusion as Carol
months prior. The two were rescued by two
armed men, from a walker. Though
we
have never seen these two men before, this led fans to believe it was an
Easter
egg to the
introduction of comic book favorite,
Ezekiel in Season 7
.

Speaking of
how Carol and Daryl have helped
each
other throughout the series, McBride shared: “I think it goes both ways
and I
think you know
everybody in this group has helped each other you know. We bounce
off each
other in this group and the
situations that arise out of each others
desires and struggles is always
forming and changing the other
characters around
them.”

If this is
the case, prepare for
a lot
of character developments and struggles next season, along with the
BURNING
answer to who got Lucielle’d at
the hands of

Negan.

The Walking
Dead
will return in
October.
