‘The Walking Dead’ Has Officially Begun Filming Season 10
If The Walking Dead hiatus is finally starting to get you, we have good news. The series has officially begun production on season 10! Executive producer Denise Huth shared a photo of a clapperboard, captioning it with “First day, first shot, Season 10. #TWDfamily is back!” The currently untitled episode will be directed by Greg Nicotero. Check out the photo below:
Norman Reedus also shared a photo from his first day on set, featuring his and Melissa McBride’s chairs.
The Walking Dead wrapped an impressive and highly praised season 9 last month after a year of drastic changes, including the exits of series stars Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan. While the loss of Cohan and Lincoln was felt, their absence did provide the opportunity for key players such as Reedus and Danai Gurira to shine and play out much meatier storylines.
In season 10, the series will continue to explore new Big Bad, Alpha (Samantha Morton) and The Whisperers, while also introducing what seems to be a new community. The final scene of season 9 teased someone reaching out on the radio that Eugene had built.
While the entire cast is expected to return, it has been confirmed that Gurira will be starring in a limited capacity before making her exit by the end of the season. Her departure will be a tough one for fans, but the actress will most likely be appearing Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes film trilogy in some capacity.
What are you most excited about for season 10 of The Walking Dead? The series will return to AMC this fall!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
