The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Was Never Supposed To Have His Motorbike!? Norman Reedus Opens Up About The Change!

The Walking Dead has changed a lot over the years, but one thing has always remained constant. If Daryl dies, we riot. Fans have been saying that since the show’s early days, and man, some of them mean it. Can you imagine Daryl without his bike? Well, Daryl Dixon was never supposed to have his motorbike! Norman Reedus opens up about the change!

It’s funny because Norman Reedus is one of the only remaining original cast members. Daryl has changed a lot as the show has progressed, but fans are still vehement in their love for Daryl. They want him to live, and so does the actor.

It is widely known that Norman Reedus is a motorbike aficionado. He knows how to ride them in real life and is something of an enthusiast. In fact, he has a show on AMC where he rides his motorbike around. It’s a thing.

The show is still ongoing, I believe, and he even has other actors on. For example, he’s ridden with Michael Rooker on the show, before. Michael Rooker portrayed Daryl Dixon’s brother on The Walking Dead but was killed in the third season.

The point of all this is that it’s hard to imagine Daryl Dixon without his motorbike. He almost didn’t have it though, Daryl Dixon was originally supposed to ride a horse. He spoke about it on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

“I’m terrified of horses. Like, I— really scared of horses,” Reedus explained to Fallon. “Because they have big eyes, and someone said they could smell your fear and all this stuff.”

So, in the end, The Walking Dead producers allowed him to have a bike instead. In the end, it was the right decision, since the bike has become incredibly important to Daryl’s character.

These anecdotes are always interesting. You never know what you’ll learn when a character discusses behind-the-scenes stuff. At least it all worked out in the end.
