A late fan-favorite from the Walking Dead comic books is headed to the screen for season 10.
At New York Comic Con, it was revealed that Paola Lázaro (Fox’s Lethal Weapon and Showtime’s SMILF) will be joining the cast, playing Juanita Sanchez, aka Princess.

Princess doesn’t appear until after the Whisperer War story arc in Issue 171, “Lines We Cross,” which begs the questions: Will the Whisperer War end quickly? What does this mean for the show past season 11?
In the comics, Princess meets the group during an expedition to a new community, the Commonwealth, as discovered by Eugene during the radio communications. This was teased in the season nine finale. Princess is an isolated survivor who lives in Pittsburgh and upon meeting the group, she decides to tag along.
The Commonwealth is the setting for the final arc of the Walking Dead comic books. Her arrival could mean this community is not far behind.
We don’t know much about Princess’s role in the story outside of the source material, which in this level of the game is anyone’s guess.
Lázaro will join newcomers Thora Birch, Whisperer Gamma, and Juan Javier Cardenas, Dante, for season 10.
Season 10 of The Walking Dead premieres tomorrow, Oct. 6, on AMC.
