The Walking Dead: A New Time Jump, Reportedly, Ahead

The Walking Dead has successfully utilized the time jump to refresh the show.  Most recently, after Rick Grimes’ (Andrew Lincoln) departure, the show propelled itself six years into the future.  This resulted in a grown-up Judith, an in-charge Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the revelation of R.J. (Rick Junior) to fans.  As well, this had a significant impact on other relationships and communities.  After a period of supposed peace, the communities found themselves at odds with Alpha (Samantha Morton) and the Whisperers.

According to We Got This Covered, “fans should prepare for a significant time jump in TWD season 11.”  Supposedly, another time jump will occur and take our group of survivors into the future, once the Whisperer War will be concluded in Season 10.

There are many possibilities and directions on where the show could go.  The most notable would be the introduction of new communities or even one larger government.  However, the most likely scenario would be more incorporation of the greater world of The Walking Dead, including paralleled story lines to Fear The Walking Dead and the new series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Even greater, would the show head in the direction that will align itself with the Rick Grimes feature films that are in production.

In an interview with Hey Fandom, Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, believed the final issue could potentially generate fresh story lines on the screen.  We won’t spoil the comic book finale here, but the world in the final book definitely could create a completely new world with a new perspective on the walkers and the future of the world.

Next week, it is expected at San Diego Comic Con at Home that The Walking Dead will announce the airing date for the Season 10 finale.  It is also expected that the finale will be much longer than originally planned, as it will almost act more like a feature film than an episode.
