Any fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can agree that while Tom Holland is absolutely brilliant as Spider-Man, he is absolutely terrible at keeping secrets. Let’s recap.
Me “I don’t know why marvel don’t trust me with secrets”
Also me “Marvel left the suit with us, imma let everyone try it on and post a vid”

He spoiled his own franchise multiple times, such as the time when he revealed that it would be a trilogy or that there was a scene where he was dunked in a lake.
In fact, Holland was actually given a chaperone on the Infinity War press junket. Benedict Cumberbatch’s sole purpose was to ensure that Holland didn’t spoil anything about the movie. There’s actually a 30-second compilation video of him doing so.
Heck, he even spoiled Jurassic World for Chris Pratt – a movie he wasn’t even starring in!

So, when it comes to Marvel’s prized and record-breaking possession, The Avengers films, Holland isn’t allowed anywhere near the script. In fact, they tell him so little he often has no idea who he’s even fighting against.
[row] “Tom Holland does not get the script. Tom Holland gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite of. We’ll just, we use like very vague terms to describe to him what is happening in the scene because he has a very difficult time keeping his mouth shut,” Endgame director Joe Russo recently said at the film’s Indian Anthem event.[/row]
While the decision makes sense, when you think about it, it truly makes Holland’s performance that much better. Take his final scene in Infinty War, for example. Holland had literally no idea what was even going on around him yet his death still remains one of the most heartbreaking of the bunch. The kid may have loose lips, but he’s got mad talent.
So, while it hasn’t been confirmed if Holland will be appearing in Endgame, we think that thanks to Russo’s comments there’s a pretty high chance he will be. The fun part is that Holland will be watching things for the first time too just like us!
Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 24th!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
