Just a day after the official poster was released, Orion Pictures delivered the first trailer for their new horror film The Prodigy, and it looks like it’s going to be a thrilling family drama with a perfect dose of terror.
Starring Orange is the New Black’s Taylor Schilling, The Prodigy follows a young boy genius named Miles (It’s Jackson Robert Scott) who begins to exhibit some extremely dark and disturbing behavior, which results in a divide between the family as Sarah (Schilling) wrestles with her instinct to both protect him and investigate just what is causing this behavior. Basically, you do not want to be in the same class as Miles.
While it may sound like a familiar premise, with director Nicholas McCarthy (At the Devil’s Door) and writer Jeff Buhler (2019’s Pet Sematary) teaming up behind the camera, audiences should expect to be on the edge of their seats in terror the entire time.
[row]“The first time we previewed the movie there is a section where people screamed so loud that we had to go back and re-edit the scene that followed it, because people were still recovering from what they had just seen, and they were missing the dialogue,” McCarthy told EW. [/row]

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
