Just weeks ago, we told you that Lionsgate was planning the release of it’s newest installment in the Saw franchise only the film was taking on a different name. Instead of Saw: Legacy the film is simply called Jigsaw and the poster for the film brings back a terrifying part of the earlier films.
Yep, the pig mask is back and it is just as terrifying as ever, in fact, it’s quite possibly more terrifying than we remember. Maybe it’s the look of the photo, or what we know comes along with it, but it gives you an eerie vibe – which is absolutely what they were aiming for.
The premise for the film is as follows.
‘Jigsaw will begin with bodies turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade. Or has an apprentice picked up the mantle of Jigsaw, perhaps even someone inside the investigation?‘
Jigsaw is set to star Tobin Bell, Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Boisvert, and James Gómez.
The film is slated to hit theaters this October, so there’s time to catch up on all things Saw before seeing the eighth installment.
