‘The Perfectionists’: Could there be a ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Reunion?
Since the Pretty Little Liars mystery came to a close, the only good news we’ve had comes in the form of The Perfectionists.
We know that Sasha Pieterse’s Alison DiLaurentis, and Janel Parrish’s Mona Vanderwaal will be back for the spinoff. Lucy Hale, who played Aria Montgomery has also shown interest in a potential reunion.
When asked if she’d join her former castmates, she said “For all the girls? Yeah, I think so…You know, they’re doing the spinoff and I think, maybe… I don’t know like what they’re doing with the show and how it intertwines with PLL or how they’re making it work,” she added. “But I’m excited. I’m so excited for everyone and yeah I think a reunion is very possible.”
The Perfectionists is also based on a Sara Shepard book series and follows Alison as she moves to Oregon and surprisingly finds Mona there.
Janel has revealed some news about the Mona we love to hate. “It starts with you guys seeing a completely new Mona… I mean, one thing I love about [the] character that they’ve given me to play is that she has so many layers, she’s always evolving. And now you’ll see an even more evolved Mona.”
Sasha adds that Mona and Ali will form some sort of bond in the new series. “When I read the draft that we were going to film, I cracked up in so many spots because of the way that they tie in their two characters. They kind of become allies in a way and it’s this very interesting kind of dynamic, ’cause Alison’s obviously not sure if she can trust Mona. I mean, can you ever trust Mona? But the way that she ends up being in this new town is very mysterious, but also hilarious, the way that she kind of rides over these questions.”
The Perfectionists will begin filming in a few months and is set to premiere on Freeform in 2019.
