‘The Office’ Releases ‘Threat Level Midnight’

NBC‘s The Office has finally released Michael Scott’s Threat Level Midnight in its entirety. Originally premiered by Steve Carell‘s character in Episode 17 of Season 7, the  film took Michael Scott ten years of writing, shooting, re-shooting, and editing to complete.  This is the final outcome of Michael Scott’s masterpiece.

The film focuses on secret agent Michael Scarn (Michael Scott) who has to go up against Goldenface (Jim Halpert played by John Krasinski). While topping Goldenface from killing seven hostages and blowing up NHL All-Star Game, Scarn learns that the President (Darryl Philbin played by Craig Robinson) was in on the plan all along. Additionally, Threat Level Midnight features a romance story line with Jasmine Windsong (Angela Martin played by Angela Kinsey)

The film is described as:

After secret agent Michael Scarn (played by Scott) is forced into retirement due to the death of his wife Catherine Zeta-Scarn, the President of the United States of America (played by Darryl Philbin) requests that he prevent Goldenface (played by Jim Halpert) from blowing up the NHL All-Star Game and killing several hostages. Scarn goes undercover and learns how to play hockey, killing another hockey player (played by Oscar Martinez) to make it into the game, but after confronting Goldenface, he is shot. He later recuperates but learns that the President was in on it all along. Depressed, he goes to a bar to drown his sorrows. The patrons of the bar sing a song called “The Scarn” which he danced to with his wife, which cheers Scarn up immensely. With his courage restored, Scarn is able to save the day and blow up Goldenface in the process.

One of the most popular shows ever, fans keep pushing for the show to return.  However, Carell doesn’t believe that it’s such a good idea, saying:

“Because The Office is on Netflix and replaying, a lot more people have seen it recently, and I think because of that there’s been a resurgence in interest in the show, and talk about bringing it back. But apart from the fact that I just don’t think that’s a good idea, it might be impossible to do that show today and have people accept it the way it was accepted ten years ago.”
