‘The Nun’ Launches Terrifying ‘Escape the Abbey 360’ VR Video

Are you ready to take a closer look at the world of Corin Hardy’s The Nun?

The upcoming film is turning heads when it comes to its marketing campaign. Recently, one of the film’s online video ads was removed from YouTube for being too scary and violating the site’s policies. If you thought that video was scary, wait until you see what Hardy announced on Thursday.

Now, you can actually step into the world of The Nun with a spooky virtual reality video experience. Titled Escape the Abbey, the 360-degree video puts you right in the middle of the action. You can look left, right, behind you and straight ahead, but all the while, you’re following The Nun herself as she leads you deeper into the dark hallways of the abbey.

It’s beyond creepy just experiencing the video on a laptop or your cell phone, but if you’re feeling extra brave, we double dog dare you to try the 360 experience on an actual VR headset. Check out the tweet below from Hardy himself announcing the new, creepy experience.

In addition to the terrifying 360 VR experience, tickets are now officially on sale for the movie! You can buy your tickets today!

Directed by Hardy and co-written by The Conjuring‘s James Wan and Gary Dauberman, The Nun stars Oscar-nominated Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Jonas Bloquet as local villager Frenchie, Charlotte Hope as the abbey’s Sister Victoria, Ingrid Bisu as Sister Oana, and Bonnie Aarons as the titular character thus reprising her role from Conjuring 2. Check out the film’s synopsis below:
