After Disney and Lucasfilm executives scoured through thousands of actors, one has finally come out on top.
Alden Ehrenreich has been cast to play a young Han Solo in the new Star Wars film.
Ehrenreich was most recently seen in Hail Caesar! and beat out more well knowns such as Divergent‘s Miles Teller and Ansel Elgort. Also up for the role were Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen, Logan Lerman, and Blake Jenner and Kingsman’s Taron Egerton.
The movie is set to begin filming in January and will take place somewhere between “Episode III” and “Episode IV.”
The character of Han Solo was originally made famous by Harrison Ford.
