‘The Masked Singer’: Knight is an Iconic Actor

The Masked Singer‘s first elimination of Season 8 was a major one. Knight was the first costumed figure to say farewell, and his identity should excite TV viewers — particularly those who enjoy geek media. It was a delightful unmasking — just one of two that will be aired during Season 8, Episode 1 (if you weren’t already viewing it live on FuboTV or another service).

William Shatner was revealed to be the real Knight after a pleasant performance of Irving Berlin’s “Puttin’ On the Ritz,” When fans recognized his legendary voice, they were not shocked when he was revealed to be William Shatner, an actor who is well-known for playing James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise. He’s best known as an actor for playing Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek series, but he’s also had a successful music career and covered a lot of hit songs with his distinct singing voice (Hints also alluded to his most recent trip into space, his notorious chair-throwing game show moment, and his tribute to George Lucas.)

The judges’ predictions? One was correct. Jenny McCarthy correctly predicted that it was Shatner and cracked the case. Ken Jeong, on the other hand, guessed David Hasselhoff (to a chorus of boos from the crowd.) Nicole Scherzinger’s guess of John Lithgow was incorrect, while Robin Thicke gave a hesitant pick of “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Shatner’s big reveal is just the beginning. Tonight, either Harp, Hummingbird or Hedgehog will also unmask—with a third contestant teed up to be revealed at the start of next week’s episode.
