The Mandalorian: In Season 3, Star Says He’s Going to Kill Baby Yoda

There’s not much known about Season 3 of The MandalorianShoot, right now we don’t even know when the series will even air on Disney+.  However, you can be sure that this Star Wars blockbuster of a series will pack all of the surprises we’ve come to love.  Now, according to one Mandalorian star, if he gets his way, he’s going to kill Baby Yoda.

Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon is definitely the main villain of The Mandalorian. We first met the character in the Season 1 finale, but Season 2 clearly defined his character as a much larger threat, one desperate to get his hands on Grogu for nefarious and assuredly deadly means.

However, in Season 2, Gideon was eventually defeated in a duel and taken into custody after he failed to take his own life. He did manage to stir up some conflict between Mando and Bo-Katan, though, after our intrepid hero accidentally inherited the throne of Mandalore by becoming the rightful owner of the Darksaber, which could be one of Season 3’s main story arcs.

At the end of Season 2, we saw Baby Yoda head off into the galaxy, far, far away with Luke Skywalker to continue his training. In a recent interview, Esposito teased that he’s still got unfinished business with Grogu, even if his comments were decidedly tongue in cheek.

“Yes, you’re going to see me kill this baby. How about that? It’s totally wrong, but you know what, I gotta hold out somewhere that I’m going to win.”

The show’s creator and showrunner, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, have clearly defined with the audience that Moff Gideon is Mando’s ultimate adversary for years now, and Espostio has reiterated in the past that he’ll continue playing a much bigger role in the series throughout Season 3. It’ll be interesting to see what Gideon’s arc entails whenever The Mandalorian returns to our screens.
