The Mandalorian star Gina Carano was recently fired by Lucasfilm, who produces the show for Disney+. Upon her firing, it was announced that Carano would go to Ben Shapiro’s platform to produce new content. Carano sat down with Shapiro on his podcast/show to discuss everything, including her relationship with Pedro Pascal who stars as The Mandalorian. Will Carano return to the show? A new report indicates she asked!
Carano’s comments about the COVID-19 vaccine and the practice of mask-wearing, and supporting allegations of election fraud, had Carano front and center in Hollywood. Carano has been the subject of hundreds of articles and received a ton of backlash on social media. Her employers were slow to respond or comment on her words but ultimately, a moment became too much to ignore.
Carano’s recent support of the GOP on Twitter was viewed as anti-Semitic and resulted in her firing. This comes just after it was announced and anticipated that Carano was about to receive her own spinoff from The Mandalorian that would air on Disney+.
Political commentator Ben Shapiro came out in support of the actress amid the scandal and announced that Carano would be working on a project for his news platform.
Carano recently made an appearance on Shapiro’s YouTube show, where she discussed her relationship with co-star Pedro Pascal and revealed that she has no hard feelings for him despite their different political viewpoints.
“I adore Pedro, I adore him,” she said. “I know he’s said and done some hurtful things, I don’t think posting anybody’s number on social media is okay.”
Of course, the phone number in question is a reference to Pascal speaking out against Senator Ted Cruz back in January and posting his personal number online. Gina Carano went on to note:
“There’s so much love there still. We had an agreement after we realized we were a little bit politically different. We had an agreement that, first and foremost, you’re a human being. And you’re my friend first. And, the two sides were trying to drag us apart because we’re both passionate. That’s what’s been really crazy. You see these people over here being so passionate and you see people over here being so passionate. I just love that we’re both passionate. We think a little bit differently, I think, through our different experiences. I know that we both have misstepped on our tweets. We’re not perfect. We’re human beings. But he’s not a bad human being. He’s a sweet person.”
It’s now being reported that Carano has reportedly asked Disney if she can return to The Mandalorian. Tipster, Daniel Richtman, claims that Carano asked Disney to bring her back after she was fired. This definitely seems unlikely, as there hasn’t been any remorse on Carano’s part that would indicate a welcoming back of the character.
