With less than two weeks until its theatrical release, Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures’ newest and final trailer for The Legend of Tarzan will have you swinging into theaters on opening day.
Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) stars as the title wild man, Tarzan. Originally raised in the jungle by a family of gorillas, Tarzan acclimates to the aristocratic lifestyle and starts a new life in London. However, when his new life becomes threatened and his old home is in danger, he travels back to the jungles of Africa where he encounters obstacles from both man and beast.
The film also stars Margo Robbie (Suicide Squad) as Jane, Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as the villainous Leon Rom and Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) as Civil War veteran George Washington Williams.
In a recent interview with ABC News, Skarsgard said:
“It’s almost the opposite of the old movies and the novel; The ape man growing up in the jungle. That’s all in ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ as well, but it’s told in flashbacks. The main story line is you meet John…he’s been in London with his wife Jane for 10 years almost and then he returns to the jungle, so it’s more about the animal within and slowly letting that come out.”
The Legend of Tarzan will be swinging into theaters July 1st, nationwide.
