Archie Panjabi is putting her previous legal skills to the test as she has been cast to star in NBC’s new drama pilot, tentatively titled Adversaries, making it the first television deal for the 2019-2020 season. The Good Wife alum will play a “successful LA attorney who leaves her comfortable, coastal bubble to practice law in America’s heartland: her home state of Wisconsin. She’s forced to confront preconceived stereotypes and realize there’s more that unites us than divides us.”
Blindspot writer Alex Berger will act as both writer and executive producer for the project along with Blindspot creator Martin Gero. Panjabi will be in familiar hands as she was a recurring guest star on Blindspot for seasons two and three as government operative Nas Kamal.
Panjabi is best known for her role as in-house investigator Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife alongside Julianne Marguiles and Christine Barasnki, a role which earned her three Emmy nominations and one win in 2010 as well as one Golden Globe nomination. The series ran for a total of 134 episodes from 2009-2015 and inspired a spin-off series starring Baranski on CBS All-Access titled The Good Wife. She also has guest-starred on The Fall, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Shetland, Bull, and Next of Kin.
What do you think about the show? It’s certainly a ways off but do you think that its something you would tune into? Let us know!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
