The Golden Globes Find The Perfect Hosts With Andy Samberg & Sandra Oh

Just a day ahead of the Golden Globe nominations, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has revealed who will be hosting the ceremony next month and it’s sure to be a great time! Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg and Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh are pairing up to emcee the evening, which will air on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 on NBC.

[row]“Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event. They bring wit, charm, and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night,” Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, co-chairmen of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. [/row]

The duo recently took the stage at this past September’s Emmy Awards where they did an adorable skit playing on the La-La Land/Moonlight fiasco from the Oscars. They had great chemistry and their comedic timing was impeccable. You can watch their full Emmy skit here!

Not to mention, the pair has both won their very own Golden Globes with Samberg taking home the win for his turn as Detective Jake Pavelka on Nine-Nine back in 2014 and Oh winning Best Supporting Actress for her amazing performance as Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy in 2006.

[row]“We’re excited to welcome Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg as co-hosts of Hollywood’s Party of the Year. Both Golden Globe Award recipients have continually showcased their talents in film and television, and we can’t wait to see what their undeniable chemistry will bring to the Golden Globes stage,” Hollywood Foreign Press President Meher Tatna said.[/row]

The news comes one day after Kevin Hart was announced to be hosting the upcoming Oscars Awards. The Golden Globes typically kick off the trifecta of shows leading up to the Academy Awards with the SAG Awards sandwiched in the middle. The 71st Golden Globe Awards will mark Samberg’s second hosting gig after having hosted the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards back in 2015. You can watch his opening below!

Fans can catch Samberg when the squad returns for the sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on NBC next year. The premiere will air a few days after the Globes on January 10th. Oh is currently starring and executive producing BBC America’s Killing Eve, which has been hailed by audiences and critics, earning Oh an Emmy nomination this past year for Best Actress in a Drama.

Are you excited about Samberg and Oh hosting the Golden Globes? Tune in on Sunday, Jan. 6 to see how they do!
