‘The Flash’ Preview ‘Legends of Today’

The Flash Preview ‘Legends of Today’

It’s finally here! It’s crossover week!

The worlds of Flash and Arrow collide when they are faced with a new threat, Vandal Savage, who is immortal and really evil. This episode is also the launching point for the new series, Legends of Tomorrow. Team Flash joins forces with Team Arrow to eradicate the threat, but since we know that Savage is still around in the new show, they are unsuccessful.

It is so great to see everyone together again, and the preview looks like it’s going to be a good two nights. The crossover event is different this year from the last. Instead of two episodes that can stand on their own, we are getting a two-part episode; one that airs on Flash night, the other on Arrow night. You’ll need to tune in both days to get the full arc, which will continue on in January on Legends of Tomorrow.

There was a featurette released over the weekend that introduces us to Hawkman. He and Kendra are also immortal and have been constantly reincarnated throughout time. In this life, Hawkgirl is Kendra Saunders and Hawkman is Carter Hall. They are soulmates and always find each other in their new life (much to Cisco’s dismay). They are also connected to Savage. When he kills them, he grows more powerful. I wonder if one of the Hawks will meet their end in the crossover event, making Savage even more powerful during Legends.

I am really intrigued that they are pulling so much focus to the Hawks in the new show. They haven’t had media representation outside of the animated series’, and form what I have seen so far, I think that Legends will do them justice. The Hawks are typically ruthless warriors so I can’t wait to see what they can do.

I’m so excited (if you can’t tell). The crossover is going to be awesome and I think Legends of Tomorrow will carry the momentum of these two episodes and create a really epic series. It’s a good time to be a superhero nerd.

“Legends of Today” airs Tuesday night. “Legends of Yesterday” airs Wednesday night. The first episode of Legends of Tomorrow airs Thursday, January 21.
