The CW Picks Up ‘Valor’, ‘Life Sentence’, and ‘Dynasty’ Reboot

Along with its final set of renewals (congrats to iZombie and The Originals) and cancellations (No Tomorrow, Frequncy), the CW also announced a few series that will be heading to the 2017-2018 schedule.

DC’s Black Lightning has been ordered and will be joining the five DC TV series on the network (more on that here). Black Lightning will be joined by Lucy Hale’s Life Sentence, Matt Barr’s military drama Valor, and the CW’s Dynasty reboot.

Life Sentence tells the story of a young woman who after she’s been diagnosed with a terminal cancer begins to live life as if each day was her last. As it turns out, she was misdiagnosed and now has to deal with the consequences of her decision to live life like she has. Lucy Hale will star in the series and it will be executive produced by Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold alongside writers Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith.

Valor is a military drama that tells the story, in present day and in flashbacks, of an elite helicopter unit within the military that carries out clandestine missions and the story begins after a failed mission leads to the discovery of government secrets long kept. Valor stars Matt Barr, Christina Ochoa,  Charlie Barnett,  W. Trè Davis, Corbin Reid, Nigel Thatch and Melissa Roxburgh.

Dynasty will be a modern day re-telling of the classic 80s nighttime soap and will signify the return of Gossip Girl‘s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage to the network and will be joined by Revenge‘s Sallie Patrick as well as  The series will still follow the Carringtons and the Colbys and is set to star Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon Carrington, Grant Show, Nathalie Kelley, James Mackay, Alan Dale, Sam Adegoke, Robert Christopher Riley, and Rafael de la Fuente.

With the pilots set at the CW, we now await which shows will be getting fall debuts and which new and returning shows will be getting midseason spots.
