The Crow Reboot to Star Bill Skarsgård

The well-known definition of insanity is attempting the same thing over and over again, with the hope of obtaining different results. That’s something that Hollywood’s endless and yet so far unsuccessful attempts to launch a reboot of The Crow illustrate perfectly.

In December of 2008, a re-imagining of the 1994 cult classic was first announced, but every subsequent try has been fruitless for 14 years. Undeterred, Deadline reports that Bill Skarsgård has been cast as the lead in Warner Bros.’ Snow White and the Huntsman, with Rupert Sanders set to helm.

Of course, the star and director doesn’t guarantee that The Crow will make it to the big screen, given how many people have circled it at various stages on both sides of the camera.

Sanders has joined a long, long list of talent who have wanted to star in The Crow at various points, including (but not limited to) Stephen Norrington, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Francisco Javier Gutierrez, Corin Hardy, Jason Momoa, Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans, Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, James McAvoy, Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Sam Witwer, Bill’s brother Alexander Skarsgård, Jack Huston, Nicholas Hoult, and Jack O’Connell.

In a nutshell, we’ll believe it when we see it on the big screen, based on how many times The Crow V2.0 has been developed and then almost immediately canceled.
