The Chainsmokers Totally Crashed a High School Prom

Prom night is one of the biggest nights in any high schooler’s life. The age old tradition allows the seniors to have one night together where they get all dressed up, probably drink spiked punch, and dance the night away. It’s a big magic, and it comes at an incredible time, as the last few weeks of school follow shortly after.

For some, prom night is all about the dress, for others, it’s the mood, and for some, it’s the music. This rings incredibly true for some seniors at Huntley High School near Chicago, IL.

That’s right. Just hours before playing an arena show in Chicago, The Chainsmokers crashed a prom and surprised every student in attendance. The Chainsmokers are currently on tour and keeping very busy, however, they had no problem making some time to spread some joy before their show on April 29th.

People reported that the entire thing started a couple weeks earlier with an e-mail from a hopeful student.

About two weeks ago I got this random phone call that I happened to answer, and on the other end this person said ‘This is going to be the strangest call you’ve ever received, but one of your students actually sent an email to the manager of the band,’ ” Huntley High School Principal Scott Rowe told the Daily Herald.

That call came from the band’s videographer and the principal went on to say that it was one of the hardest secrets to keep. It meant a lot to Scott Rowe and of course to the students at the school. The Chainsmokers tweeted soon after that ‘Your prom could be next’. We’re sure a lot of high schoolers are crossing their fingers for that.
