The cast of 13 Reasons Why is one of the most talked about groups of young adults in Hollywood right now. Since the series debuted earlier this year, it’s been received with both applause and criticism, but from film to series to book – when things make a big statement – they prepare to face some backlash.
The cast hasn’t let that get them down, instead, they greet it with a message of their own – the hard topics addressed in the show are things young people face every day. It was time for a show like this one.
This weekend, they took a break to enjoy spreading another message – one of equality and love and embracing who you are. They took part in San Francisco’s Pride Parade as part of the Netflix float. It was decorated beautifully with vibrant colors, flowers and smiling faces all around.
Christian’s photo caption was perfect. ‘Today is yours’, he said, and you can tell that the entire cast felt privileged to be there to support the important day.
The girls also posted a video having a blast while getting ready to march in the parade.
Michele posted a photo on the float and shared pride with it happening in her hometown. She also shared a quote from Obama where he shared that when we’re all equal, we’re all more free.
You can check out other photos in the Instagram accounts for the cast members who were able to attend the parade. Did any of you make it to the pride parade in San Fran? If not, were you able to celebrate in your own cities? Let us know.
