The Boys‘ third season finally received a premiere date when Prime Video revealed an announcement trailer confirming the first three episodes would be available on June 3, with the subsequent five being released every week until July 8.
The most recent episode aired in October 2020, so viewers will have been waiting a long time before getting to know Billy Butcher and the crew again for another batch of hilarious superhero adventures.
The Boys is now considered prestige television, as well as arguably Amazon’s most popular original series, owing to its recent Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
The in-canon Seven on 7 webseries has dropped on the seventh of every month since 2015, and the most recent episode may have laid some of the groundwork for the college-set spinoff which is currently in production. The name Godolkin University is mentioned by presenter Cameron Coleman, with superpowered Golden Boy being considered a potential top draft pick
That’s the first morsel of information we’ve received about the side branch, but with Season 3 set to premiere this summer and an animated anthology in production, there’s still plenty more The Boys has in store as it continues to establish itself as one of Amazon’s main brands.
