‘The Boys’ Star Confirms Her Character Isn’t Returning for Season 3

Aya Cash’s Stormfront was a highlight of The Boys second season. The personality was a brilliant takedown of the alt-right, demonstrating how joking irony is merely a façade for straight-up fascism. She went too far even for Homelander and was exposed as a genuine literal Nazi from World War II before ending up with her limbs blasted away and babbling about her long-forgotten history.

However, as The Boys emphasizes, killing a super isn’t all that simple. Stormfront was imprisoned rather than killed at the end of the season, and he or she is “being held in an undisclosed location.” Web series Seven on 7 resolved the gap between seasons two and three by revealing that ‘Stormchasers’ were attempting to obtain her freedom.

But now it seems that Cash will be sitting this season out. In an interview with Metacritic, she was asked about season 3 and said:

“I’ll be watching with the rest of you guys, unfortunately. That’s my update.”

It’s terrible news, but because her story had concluded and she was brought back did not make much narrative sense, she will not return in the future seasons or spinoffs. Perhaps she’ll return in later seasons or series?

Fortunately, The Boys‘ third season appears to be jam-packed with all the strange and disturbing excitement we desire. The most recent clip revealed that they will not be relaxing the blood buckets, introducing Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher gaining his own powers, and previewing the introduction of Jenson Ackles’ Soldier Boy (basically a parody of Steve Rogers). There’s also the long-awaited live-action adaptation of the legendary Herogasm narrative.

That’s not all. Season 3 of The Boys is also set to premiere on Amazon Prime on June 3, which means we don’t have to wait long at all.
