It looks like The Art of Racing in the Rain is about to land its most valuable character – the voice of man’s best friend. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed today that Fox 2000 is close to booking Kevin Coster to lend his voice to Enzo, the film’s narrator, who also happens to be a dog.
The film, which is currently set to star This Is Us’ Milo Ventimiglia, is based on Garth Stein’s novel of the same name and is told through the perspective of a family dog named Enzo who looks back on his life and the lessons he’s learned from his professional race car-driver owner named Denny (Ventimiglia). The movie will be directed by Goodbye Christopher Robin’s Simon Curtin.
Costner is known for some great film work including The Bodyguard, Hidden Figures, Field of Dreams, and Dances with Wolves for which he won an Oscar. He will be appearing on the small screen soon with the upcoming Netflix film The Highwaymen, starring alongside Woody Harrelson and Kathy Bates, as well as Paramount Network’s new western series Yellowstone.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
