If you watched TNT’s hit suspense thriller The Alienist, then you are well aware of the amazing on-screen chemistry shared by the series’ leading cast including Daniel Bruhl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning. While the trio is gearing up to bring Caleb Carr’s next novel The Angel of Darkness to life for yet another limited series, Bruhl and Evans will be teaming up, yet again, on an all-new project.

Bruhl and Evans will be starring in an upcoming untitled dramedy inspired by the 2006 French film Mon Meilleur Ami (My Best Friend). Deadline reports that the project follows, “two very different men – one arrogant and cold, the other sweet and talkative – whose lives are thrown together when one accepts a bet to find a best friend and the other agrees to teach him the secret to making friends.”

In addition to Bruhl and Evans, the project will also reunite the two with The Alienist co-showrunner and executive producer E. Max Frye as well as The Alienist EP Rosalie Swedlin. Frye is creating the adaptation with Swedlin producing along with Bard Dorros from Anonymous Content.

Clearly excited about the opportunity to work once again with the team behind The Alienist, Bruhl told Deadline:

[row]“This remake of the very charming French film Mon Meilleur Ami is a perfect opportunity to bring the dream team back together I enjoyed so much working with on The Alienist. Luke Evans, Max Frye, Rosalie Swedlin and Anonymous Content, superb!”[/row]

Evans echoed Bruhl’s praise for “the dream team” by saying:

[row]“It’s a wonderful thing when you get to continue working with talented and creative artists with whom you have already achieved success. Daniel Bruhl and I have had an extraordinary journey together on The Alienist, we have a great mutual respect for one another, he’s also a friend, so it’s exciting to take our creative partnership into a new arena.”[/row]

One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait to see Daniel Bruhl and Luke Evans back together again!
