Thank Heavens! ‘The Good Place’ Renewed For Season 3

Your prayers have been answered Good Place fans because NBC has just renewed the Kristen Bell and Ted Danson comedy for a third season. Now that is some good forking news.

The series, which has found a new slew of audiences thanks to Netflix and Hulu, was renewed for 13 additional episodes by the network on Tuesday. The Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation) comedy has been really well-received by critics since its humble beginnings has been averaging a 2.0 rating in the 18-to-49 demo and 6.2 million viewers (when factoring in a week of DVR playback).

In addition to Bell and Danson, The Good Place stars William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto, and D’Arcy Carden. Bell plays Eleanor, a woman who dies only to awaken in the afterlife. She initially believes she has been accidentally sent to The Good Place, but soon discovers that everything is not all it’s chalked up to be.

The series is just over halfway through its sophomore season, just recently airing its fall finale. It’s set to return with the last half of the season on January 4th.  The Good Place joins the ranks the already renewed This Is Us and Will & Grace for next season.
