Teen Wolf Recap ‘The Last Chimera’
Oh, boy, that was a frantic episode, and not necessarily in a bad way. There was a lot of ground to cover following the 5A finale. I’m going to separate out the present from the future and try to make some sense of them.
In the present, Sheriff Stilinski is dying. Scott almost died and is having problems with his werewolf-ness courtesy of Theo. Stiles is mad at everyone. Lydia is laying at the Nemeton with a hole in her head. Malia and Kira are MIA. Liam is feeling guilty for almost killing Scott. And Theo has his chimera army.
Parrish finds Lydia and sees that she has predicted another death by carving a police badge into a tree stump, destroying her fingers. They assume that she is referencing the sheriff. Parrish gets Scott and they go to the hospital, where Lydia is admitted. Sheriff Stilinski starts crashing and it appears that he has been poisoned. Scott and Stiles team up, though Stiles isn’t too happy about it, to find out what poisoned him. They find out that it wasn’t Theo who attacked Papa Stilinski but another chimera. They track him with some help from Malia, who is hesitant to join up with them, and they face off with the Dread Doctors. But then Chris Argent shows up and saves them (yay!). Stiles figures out that a piece of bone was stuck in his father. The doctors remove it and he recovers.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Martin admits Lydia to Eichon House. Parrish swears he will get our her. Liam and Mason are searching for the Nemeton because Liam caught Hayden’s scent and believes that she is still alive. They arrive at the Nemeton and find four of the bodies missing. The police then show up, led by Hayden, and I’m assuming Liam and Mason get taken into custody.
That’s for the most part all that goes on in the present. The episode flashes between that and the future with Lydia in Eichon House. She is talking to a doctor about Theo and Scott. All the while, Theo is coming to get to her. We find out that when Theo accessed her memories, she also got a taste of his. Apparently, Theo killed his sister, and took her heart, which the Dread Doctors then implanted in Theo. Theo shows up at Eichon to take Lydia, saying that he doesn’t want a Banshee, he wants a Hellhound. There’s a roar and Parrish is standing at the gate, full Hellhound, ready to protect Lydia.
It is hard to predict what is going to come based on this episode. I am hoping that the second episode slows down the pace a little bit. I know it was frantic to match the pace of Team Wolf’s search to find the chimera that attacked Papa Stilinski. This was a crazy way to start the season, but I expect it to be a really crazy season.
The next episode is entitled “Damnatio Memoriae.”
